The girls are back in town...! - A concert review by Katrin Wagner:

Concert number 68...
Christel and I start our trip to the Sachsen-Anhalt-Tag in Magdeburg early on Saturday. Christel has already driven for almost 3 hours from her hometown Duisburg, so that I take over the driving duties to Magdeburg. We leave Kassel at about 10 am and arrive in Magdeburg at 1 pm. We don't know SAILOR's hotel nor do we have a room for ourselves yet, so that we leave my poor old car in a car park in the inner city and walk to the festival area. The Sachsen-Anhalt-Tag takes place in the whole town, with lots of different shows, stages and events as the celebration of this section of Germany called Sachsen-Anhalt. SAILOR will perform on the MDR stage on the Domplatz later this afternoon, so that we decide to search for this stage.
It's very very hot, but it fortunately doesn't take us very long until we find the correct stage where the MDR show has just started. A little later, a helpful ghost finally tells us the name of SAILOR's hotel which is not too far away from the place where we've left my car. SAILOR will only perform at 5 pm and there's still lots of time, so that Christel and I decide to walk all the way back and further into the other direction to the hotel. But as we arrived there, the hotel is booked up already. No problem, we quickly make a phone call and ask for a room at another hotel we've passed on the way from the venue to this hotel, and they have a room for us. So, after a brief "hello" and talk to Peter, Phil and driver Thomas, we walk back to the car once again, rescue it from the car park and drive straight to our hotel to check in and relax a little before the SAILOR show.

We are back at the Domplatz at about 4 pm and watch some of the other artists before it's finally time for SAILOR at 5 pm. The audience is in a good mood despite the heat (except for those unfriendly guys next to me - you know who you are!) and have a good time, as well as Rob, Phil, Peter and Grant on stage who perform a short but very entertaining playback set including their greatest hits (using the "Live In Berlin" versions).
After the nice but short performance SAILOR are driven to the Börderlandhalle in Magdeburg for the rehearsals of the TV show "Magdeburg Für Anhalter" which will be broadcast live on MDR television tomorrow evening. Christel and I use the spare time for the walk back to our hotel, a quick shower and special treatment for our sunburn, followed by a marvellous meal at an Italian restaurant on the way between our hotel and the hotel of the SAILORs.
At 8 pm we are back at SAILOR's hotel, and the boys arrive just a few minutes later, joining us for a drink and talk. Later, Grant decides to go to bed early after the long hot day, while Christel and I accompany Rob to that nice Italian restaurant again...
On the next morning Christel and I return to SAILOR's hotel, where they boys take a lot of time for us again before we have to drive back home at 1 pm.
Grant promises to give us a very special wave during the live TV show tonight... let's see if that works ;-) (Oh yes, it does! THANKS so much, Grant!!!!!!!!)
