SAILOR LIMITED, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SARUM PUBLISHING, ARE PROUD TO BRING YOU A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A PIECE OF SAILOR HISTORY
Formed in 1973, SAILOR were the most original, innovative and outrageously camp act to emerge from the mid-Seventies music scene. They were the first band since the Beatles to launch two singles simultaneously in to the top five of numerous hit parades around the world, eventually notching up over a dozen hits across Europe during their long and illustrious history.
The Official SAILOR Story has been exhaustively and lovingly researched and written by James McCarraher, with the full, frank and unbridled co-operation of the four founder members, current torch-bearers Peter Lincoln and Rob Alderton as well past members, Gavin and Virginia David.
Produced in hardback and running to 260 pages, it is lavishly complemented by dozens of previously unseen and unpublished photographs and images from the SAILOR and Sony archives.
It charts the history of the band and its individual members from their various early incarnations, through the peaks and troughs of the Seventies, the wilderness years of the Eighties and the sensational comeback in the Nineties, up to the present day.
With contributions from ex-Beach Boy Ron Altbach, Bruce Johnston, BA Robertson, Robert Wace, Tim Dry, Cliff Richard and a foreword by Jeffrey Lesser, A Glass Of Champagne The Official SAILOR Story is a fitting tribute to one of the most energetic, entertaining and best loved bands to emerge during the latter half of the Twentieth Century.
AND NOW FOR THE EXCITING BIT THE FIRST EDITION OF A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE THE OFFICIAL SAILOR STORY IS BEING LIMITED TO JUST 500 COPIES - WORLDWIDE.
