A text from the official "RSH Gold" promotion-book 1991. SAILOR won the "RSH Gold" award for their comeback:
For more than a
decade they had disappeared from earth, but in 1991 the four guys
from SAILOR have managed to start a great comeback.
Who doesn't know the SAILOR-hits from the 70s like "A Glass
Of Champagne", "One Drink Too Many" or "Girls
Girls Girls"? From 1975 to 1978 the band was always known
for a top-5-hit with their happy Nickelodeon sound. But then the
sailor-outfits disappeared from the scene, almost as quickly as
they had appeared. Especially singer and songwriter Georg Kajanus
and keyboarder Phil Pickett kept on working behind the scenes of
the music business, but big hits were not available any more.
Nearly two years ago the four separated musicians finally found
back together again and wanted to know it once again. At the
beginning the Nickelodeon stayed at the attic, but without this
self-made chaos-keyboard SAILOR also managed to create a happy,
vocal-accentuated sound that was just right for the German
listeners. And after their first comeback-hit "The
Secretary" SAILOR even presented another great hit of the
last season with "La Cumbia".
